June Reads and Reviews

It's Indie Pride Day!
What better way to celebrate than to share some great indie books with you guys. Here is what I read in June by some wonderful indie authors.

Mr. Brooks & His Women
by Nessa Dearmond (B. J. Taylor)

Rating: 3 Stars

Review:
A short, dirty erotica that will certainly give you some naughty visuals! My only complaint is the editing issues and overuse of certain phrases throughout. Otherwise, quick, hot fun.

Slice Girls: An Anthology of Feminazi Splatter Goth
by Various Authors

Rating: 4 Stars

Review:
I enjoyed this collection of various revenge and horror stories. A fun read that will keep you on your toes.

This title is no longer available on Amazon but you can find it on Goodreads here

Sylvia's Torment
by Veronica del Rosa

Rating: 5 Stars

Review:
An amazing story of finding your own inner hope and determination in the midst of torture and pain. I love how even in the pits of despair, when all hope seemed lost, Sylvia still remained strong and saved herself. Even better, the Alpha that she is in love with respects her strength and pushes her to do her best, instead of coddling her and trying to constantly protect her.
Well written with action, steamy romance, and a lesson in staying strong to defeat the prison of your own mind.

Bayou Shadow Hunter
by Debbie Herbert

Rating: 5 Stars

Review:
A steamy page turner!
Well written and exciting, this book was hard to put down. I enjoyed the characters' journeys of self discovery and how they saved each other from loneliness and fear. Great read!

Jane
by Rose Montague

Rating: 4 Stars

Review:
Fast paced fun!
Non-stop action once again in the continuing tales of the three J'amigos. Jane and Jade showed their true power as they battled a nearly unkillable foe. The mix of supernatural creatures involved added flavor to this tasty treat.
My only complaints are the sprinkling of editing issues and the repetitiveness. Besides that, I thoroughly enjoyed following Jane and Jade around the world as they made new friends and discovered how deep their love truly was. Can't wait for Jill, the third installment!

I also caught up on the comic I Hate Fairyland and the manga Kamisama Hajimemashite, both very different stories but loads of fun.
Happy Indie Pride Day everyone! Authors, wave your indie flags high and be proud of what you have accomplished. Readers, what are you waiting for? Get some amazing indie titles today!
